Personal History

In September 2005, I left the cold and high cost of Connecticut and drove 1800 miles to Austin to live "where the climate suits my clothes." I visited in 1993 and wanted to move here ever since. For those doing the math, that's twelve years. What can I say, I'm a spontaneous guy.

Since landing in Austin, I have enjoyed the tremendous music scene. I still marvel at the quality of talent I can see in small clubs at little or no cost. Back in Connecticut I used to have to drive or take a train down to New York City to see the same quality of music consistently, which required five times the cost and ten times the hassle! Now, my favorite bands are mere minutes from my door.

I tend to gravitate to Texas country (no Nashville corporate country for me, thank you very much) and rock, but I also love blues, jazz, funk, and cheesy pop, especially of the eighties hair-band variety. You can usually find me at the Saxon Pub on Wednesdays for Happy Hour with Pauline Reese, the Continental Club on Mondays for Dale Watson, and the Broken Spoke on Thursdays to practice my latest endeavor: two-stepping. Let me tell you, if you've never seen a Connecticut boy dance, you are missing out!
